[edit] History

The Western Region consists of 13 sections throughout the Western United States, Hawaii Alaska, and Japan. Each section typically consists of between 2 and 8 lodges and is led by a Section Chief, who is advised by a Section Adviser and Section Staff Adviser. The Key 3 leadership for the region consists of the youth leader, the Region Chief, who is advised by the Region Chairman and the Region Staff Adviser. The Region Chief is a national officer in the Order of the Arrow, Boy Scouts of America and is elected by the Section Chiefs of the region at the National OA Planning Meeting every December.

The Region is responsible for several things, and its most notable events are the National Leadership Seminars and National Lodge Adviser Training Seminars.
